A fundraiser has been set up after a five-year-old boy lost his mother to cancer just two years after his father died.
Fiona Fruvall was just 33-years-old when she lost the battle to cancer on May 11 of this year.
The mother-of-one was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, however went into remission a year later.
Fiona’s friend, Rachel McNaboe, told News Shopper: “Three weeks ago she went back to the doctor because she wasn’t feeling well.
“They told her that the cancer had spread to her liver and spine and was given a month to six weeks.
“She had one chemo session and died the next day.”
Fiona left behind five-year-old Ethan, who is now being looked after by his grandma and grandpa in Woolwich.
Rachel told us that Ethan’s father, Steve, very sadly died two years ago.
She said: “Fiona was a brilliant mum to Ethan he adored her she was just a wonderful person, beautiful inside and out, she had such a good heart.”
Fiona grew up in Plumstead and had lived there all her life. Before she became unwell she was working at The Bull Tavern.
Rachel said: “I’d known Fiona for about eight years and become really close. My little girl is good friends with Ethan too.
“I wanted to set up a fundraiser to help look after him and give him the best chances, The Bull has been raising money, as have other pubs in the area, she was a recognised figure.”
An amazing 74 people have already given money online and that isn't counting the support that is felt around the community.
Fiona’s funeral will be held on June 4 at The Bull Tavern.
Rachel said: “Fiona told me exactly what she wanted before she died, so on the 4th everyone is going to wear pink for her.”
