An appeal has been launched following reports of an armed robbery yesterday.

A man, believed to be aged in his 20s, entered the Post Office on Upshire Road, Waltham Abbey at around 8.35pm on Tuesday, April 23.

He produced what is believed to be a small handgun and demanded cash from the till, which the assistants refused to hand over.

The man then left the scene on foot and is believed to have travelled across Stanway Road in the direction of Abbotts Drive.

The suspect has been described as being white, aged between 20 and 25 years old, and around 6ft tall.

He wore light grey jogging bottoms which had a stripe down the side and had his face covered at the time of the incident.
