Entries are now open for the Richmond Borough in Bloom competition, which challenges gardeners across the borough to show off their creativity.
Participants can enter into ten different categories, giving businesses and residents the chance to contribute.
Judging to Royal Horticultural Society standards will take place in July, after which entrants will learn if they have achieved one of the Merit Awards (Gold, Silver Gilt or Bronze) or been chosen the overall winner for their category.
The categories include:
- Front Gardens (sponsored by Squire’s Garden Centres)
- Residential Frontages
- Park & Bloom for residents making car space among their flowers
- Estates, Community Buildings, Hotels & Pubs, (sponsored by Continental Landscapes Ltd)
- Shop Fronts and Best Environmental Garden (with an anonymous sponsor)
The winner of each category receives a commemorative trophy at an awards ceremony held at York House on October 1.
The closing date for entry is June 28. Entry forms are available from the Civic Centre, in public libraries or can be downloaded from the website www.richmondboroughinbloom.co.uk.
