An industrial fire in Essex is being spotted by concerned Dartford residents as massive plumes of smoke continue to rise from the site.
One curious driver posted a photo of the smoke cloud while they were driving towards Bluewater Shopping Centre while residents from Swanscombe took to social media to query the worrying scenes of the ongoing fire.
Smoke spotted just off the M25
According to Essex County Fire & Rescue Services, the fire started in an industrial estate in Rectory Road, Grays, where one unit and a lorry caught alight earlier this afternoon.
The fire is producing a lot of smoke which can be seen for miles around with residents in the nearby area should close their windows as there is a lot of smoke in the area.
According to their Twitter account, more than 50 firefighters were called to the scene and will remain there to ensure all pockets of fire have been completely extinguished and fully cooled.
An aerial ladder platform has now been deployed to assist fire crews as they continue to douse the flames with hoses.
Updates as we get them.
