This year 86.14 per cent of children in Greenwich received a place at their first preference school with 95.18 per cent receiving a place at one of their top three preferences.

Applications were up this year with more residents applying for a primary place compared to 2018.

A record number of primary school applications for September 2019 (98.9 per cent) were made online through the eAdmissions portal, which is the quickest, easiest and most secure method to apply, as well as the fastest way to find out results.

Cllr David Gardner said: “The vast majority of our Borough’s schools are ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ and our Early Years, Key Stage One and Two education ranks among the best in the country, so I am not surprised that more, and more residents, want to send their children to a Royal Greenwich school to make sure that they get the best possible start in life.

"Thank you to our admissions team who have worked really hard to ensure that as many children as possible start at their preferred school this September.”

The deadline for accepting a primary school place for September 2019 is Tuesday 30 April.
