A Leytonstone woman has been commissioned to create a new BBC programme.

Donna Preston, who has lived in Leytonstone for a decade, an actress and voice-over artist, was commissioned for a show that will be aired on BBC Three in four to six weeks time.

The programme being launched is a short-form strand of Threesomes which will include seven new online shows each year.

The first three called Hunter, Oi Pussy! and Fully Blown will be aired in the next six weeks.

Each series under the Threesomes banner will feature three episodes, each three minutes long.

Fully Blown was created by Leytonstone native Donna Preston and her friend Verona Rose.

It is about two friends, Vanessa and Demi, who rise above their boring, sometimes painful lives by creating superstar rap personas, Starz and Gap C.

These Southampton girls know "you’ve gotta fake it ‘til you make it - and then fake it some more."

Fully Blown was produced by Studio71UK for BBC Three, written by Donna Preston, Verona Rose and Sarah Morgan, and directed by Ella Jones.

It is executive produced by Jody Smith, Studio71UK creative director and Tom Payne, head of content.

The BBC says the new strand will "increase opportunities for breakthrough comedy writers and performers".

Fiona Campbell controller of BBC Three said: "It's important that BBC Three continues to be the place on the BBC that nurtures the next generation of comedy writers and performers. Threesomes is proven to be a successful pipeline for new talent and we're delighted that we are continuing our relationship with Kayode Ewumi with another series of Enterprice."

Shane Allen controller of BBC Comedy said: "Scripted comedy on BBC Three has enjoyed a purple patch with Fleabag, This Country, The Young Offenders, Man Like Mobeen and People Just Do Nothing among others delivering big audiences and many plaudits.

"The Threesomes strand is about ensuring a vital opportunity to bring through the talents of the future to continue in this rich comedy story for BBC Three."

The official publication date is yet to be published.
