Cinema will meet theatre next month for a live performance of The Bromley Boys at the Churchill Theatre.

The unique concept will see the full screening of the film along with live action sequences featuring some of the cast members.

The film is about 15-year-old Dave Roberts who fell in love with the "worst football team" in the land – Bromley FC in the late 60s.

He not only fell for the dismal team – but he also caught feelings for the chairman’s daughter, a comical story first told in his book The Bromley Boys in 2008.

The film premiered in Wembley Stadium in May of last year and has stars like Game of Thrones' Brenock O’Connor, Matrine McCutheon, Ewen Macintosh and Jamie Foreman.

Speaking about The Bromley Boys Live, producer TJ Herbert said: "Firstly we are really excited about doing these shows as we believe it is a rare opportunity to be part of a brand new concept of live theatre and cinematic comedy magic.

"We are more than delighted that Councillor Botting has taken such a keen interest in our film - which has now surpassed all expectations and will soon be seen way beyond Bromley as it makes its way around the world.

"The film will this summer be seen in no less than 12 countries including USA, China and Australia. We are deeply grateful for the mayor’s support, she has become something of an ambassador for the film, and we are delighted to be able use the event as a fundraiser for her chosen charities."

Tickets for the live theatrical performance are currently on sale.
