Youngsters from various schools, clubs and performance academies took to the stage for an annual youth dance showcase last night.

Performers aged from five to 18 demonstrated a variety of dance styles at the tenth annual Motiv8 Youth Dance Showcase at New City College Epping Campus, Borders Loughton.

A selection of contemporary, street, was performed in front of family, friends and Epping Forest District Council members.

Dance groups from around the district who took part included Moves & Groves, D.AT.C., Hip Hop Pop School’s Club, The Stadium Theatre School, Stage One, Illusions Dance Academy and West Hatch High School.

Epping St John’s Performing Arts students and former dancers from arts college DNA Studios also gave special performances to celebrate a decade of dance.

The theme of this year’s show was ‘Epping Forest – our natural environment’ where the groups had drawn influences from nature into their routines.

Two short films were also shown demonstrating dance projects based on a museum’s exhibition on artist Walter Spradbery.and an over 55’s dance club.
