EALING resident Leo Ellis, 36, was celebrating on Saturday after securing £3,000 in funding towards his new family social media business, FamLink.

Afzala Khan, of Hillingdon, won £3,250 to build up her wedding cake company.

They were among a group of London entrepreneurs who won a combined £15,000 after presenting their business ideas in a Dragons’ Den style event held by residential property group A2Dominion.

They were among a record-breaking 50 applicants to sign up for A2Dominion’s  Enterprise Programme last summer.

They attended six months of workshops to help develop business ideas, complete market research, create business plans and learn pitching skills.

They then put their knowledge to the test in two knockout rounds before being chosen as this finalists. The annual event has been running for seven years.

Leo said: “FamLink will provide families with an online network, where they can find everything they need regarding children and parenting in one place.”

Afzala’s bespoke cake company, QishMish, features flavours from the Indian sub-continent.
