AN Uxbridge man is celebrating after losing 10st 7lb since joining WW, formerly Weight Watchers.

Kenny Rice went along to a workshop at Iver Heath in July 2017 when he reached 40 and realised his health was at risk if he didn’t make significant changes to his lifestyle and diet.

“Silly things, like getting on a plane, going through turnstiles at sporting events were an issue,” he said.

Since taking action, his life has changed beyond recognition.

“It’s given me confidence,” he said. “I can actually buy clothes in shops, and I’ve become physically fit.

“Originally, I just wanted to get below 20 stone, but as time went on I realised that I could go even further.

“Then, in February 2018 my baby nephew was diagnosed with leukaemia, and devastatingly we lost him in April that year.

“I felt helpless but wanted to do something, anything. So, with members of my family, I signed up to a 10k run last July in aid of Leukaemia UK.

“Since then I’ve taken the running further and further and in April I’m running the London Marathon for Leukaemia UK. I would never have dreamed I could do something like this before the weight loss.

“And it’s helped me cope with what has happened in the last year. I can’t begin to think where I’d be now if I was still 28 stone.”
