Plans for a new block of flats in Greenwich have been submitted to the council.
Lanbury London Ltd plans to bulldoze what was an MOT garage in Blackwall Lane and replace it with a six-storey apartment building.
The developer says 37 per cent of the proposed 27 new homes would be “affordable”.
The site sits just outside the Greenwich Peninsula West masterplan, which outlines areas for major growth.

Earlier plans had the new building a little higher at seven storeys, but this has been scaled back following feedback from the community.
In its planning statement, Lanbury London said: “We consider that the proposals will bring with them a number of benefits, including: The re-use of a vacant site which has no potential for continued use as the most recent lawful operation.
“The provision of 27 new dwellings across a mixture of unit sizes, to help meet the council’s housing targets, satisfy local demand but also to make the best use of the site.”
The proposals are currently being assessed by officers at the council, with no decision made.

If it was to be approved, the council would pocket some cash through a community infrastructure levy, on top of an additional £77k it would make through new council tax payments.
The developer said: “The proposals ensuring an acceptable relationship between the proposed development and neighbouring properties, and the scheme results in no demonstrable harm to neighbouring amenities of outlook, sunlight, daylight and privacy.”
