The jury in the Alfie Lamb manslaughter trial has been told they do not need to give a unanimous verdict.
Three-year-old Alfie was allegedly crushed when his mother's boyfriend Stephen Waterson twice reversed his electric car seat into him on February 1 last year.
Waterson, 25, from Croydon, south London, has denied manslaughter, along with mother Adrian Hoare, 23, who allegedly failed to stop him.
The nightclub worker has also pleaded not guilty to intimidating Marcus Lamb, a witness in the case, while hairdresser Hoare denies child cruelty and assaulting another witness, Emilie Williams.
The defendants and Ms Williams have admitted conspiracy to pervert the course of justice by lying to police.
An Old Bailey jury retired to consider verdicts last Thursday and today was given a majority direction.
Mr Justice Kerr told the 11 men and women he would accept verdicts on which 10 of them were agreed.
