FRESH Enterprise is an initiative in Ealing to inform children about the roles and opportunities within the food industry.
It is the idea of School Food Matters and the Belazu Ingredient Company’s charity, the Belazu Foundation.
Ealing has more than 100 food companies, including Belazu, and the current unemployment rate in the area is 22% higher than the London average.
The initiative aims to help drive down the jobless rate and provide the food industry with young talent.
A pilot was run last year, when 96 students aged 11-14 from Northolt High School, Dormer Wells and Greenford High were invited to Belazu for a factory tour.

Each school was asked to create a recipe for Belazu’s Mediterranean-inspired range of pastes, and the judges were so impressed with the result they chose one from each.
All the proceeds will go to the Foundation to pay for future projects.
Northolt High created a Pecot paste with apricots and chargrilled red peppers, Dormers Wells designed Dip in Dormers, made from chickpeas, yellow peppers and spices, and Greenford High created Ripe Spice, with onions, chargrilled peppers and chilli.
The jars are now available to buy online at Belazu.com for £1.95.
