Two suspects are on the loose after a woman was reportedly strangled during a robbery in Battersea.

At about 10am on February 3 the victim, a 29-year-old woman, was walking home from a fitness class.

As she reached Nantes Close, at the junction with Rochelle Close, she walked past two men.

The victim then turned down Harbut Road where seconds later she was grabbed from behind by one of the men while the other attempted to remove a ring from her finger.

The suspects were disturbed by two members of the public who arrived on scene and fled in the direction of St Johns Hill.

One of the members of the public gave chase but the suspects were lost.

Police attended and attempted to locate the suspects but there was no trace.

The victim described one of them as being a black male, aged in his early 20s, of medium build. He was around 6ft tall and wore dark clothing, with khaki trousers.

At this stage there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
