A man who rammed his car into a packed dancefloor after being chucked out of the club has been jailed for attempted murder.

Mohammed Abdul, 21, was left "humiliated" after being thrown out of Blake’s nightclub in Gravesend on March 17 last year.

He was jailed for 28 years today.

The Deptford man said he only planned to "make a nuisance of himself to get his own back on the door staff".

CCTV showed him driving his Suzuki Vitara past bouncers, into a busy alleyway before ploughing it into the club.

Katie Wells, 18, was left with a fractured pelvis and cameraman Pierre Jermaine Joseph suffered a broken shinbone.

One man was left spread-eagled on the bonnet before the car reversed as frightened clubbers returned to their feet.

Libby Clark, senior crown prosecutor in CPS South East's complex casework unit, said: "It was sheer luck that no-one was killed that night, but the impact on those caught up cannot be underestimated.

"Aside from the physical injuries they suffered, they had to experience the nightmare of having a car hurtle towards them with no warning as they were enjoying a night out."

Some disgusted party-goers were seen swarming the car and punching it.

Abdul was convicted of two counts of attempted murder after his re-trial at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday (January 9).
