A man has been left in a critical condition following a crash late last night.
Just before 10.30pm on January 5, the Met Police, including firearms officers were trying to trace a missing person in the Crayford area.
A short time later, police were informed of a crash involving several cars in Iron Mill Lane.
One of the drivers was found to be the man who had been reported missing. He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The car was not being pursued or followed by police when the crash occurred.
The driver of a second vehicle was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries and has since been discharged.
The Roads and Transport Policing Command is investigating the crash.
