More than 50 toys were collected for St George’s Hospital Trust over Christmas, in the annual Access Self Storage Balham Christmas Charity Appeal.

Each new toy, donated by residents in Wandsworth and businesses, was given to children who are staying in hospital over Christmas.

Access Self Storage Balham manager Peter Hill said: “St George’s hospital has become an annual recipient of our Christmas Charity Appeal and we’re proud of our close relationship with the hospital. Each year the campaign has grown and we really enjoy collecting for the children under their care.

"It’s incredible that over the past seven years, including 2018, more than 6,000 gifts have been collected for charities across the UK with the help of Access teams across the country.”

Mari-Louise White from St George’s Hospital Charity said: “We are so happy with these gifts that the community of Balham has donated to our charity, as well as the awareness the appeal has generated in about the work we do.

"Receiving a present when you are a child staying in hospital over Christmas really gives you a boost and it is lovely to see the smiles on their faces. It is great to know that our youngest patients have the support from the local community and large businesses such as Access Self Storage.”
