Plans have been approved to turn some offices in Petts Wood into more than a dozen flats.

Prior approval has been given to developers to renovate Bayheath and Cardinal Houses, Fairway, into 16 apartments.

Robinson Escott Planning was given the greenlight for the works by Bromley Council this week.

The three storey block of offices will be turned into eight two-bedroom flats, seven one-bedroom apartments and one studio flat.

The shops below the currently-empty offices will remain as they are, according to planning documents.

The developers said parking will be included in the proposal, and officers at the council said there will be no “unacceptable” impacts on nearby Petts Wood residents or businesses.

According to the council’s decision notice: “The application site relates to Bayheath House and Cardinal House, a three storey post-war building located on the corner of Station Square and Fairway.

“The proposed development would not have unacceptable transport and highways impacts, contamination risks, flooding risks, and noise impacts on the intended occupiers of the development. Prior approval should be granted.”

Bromley has a housing target for small sites set by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

The borough needs to deliver 10,290 in the next ten years to keep up with demand, the Mayor said in his London Plan.
