One of the stars of Love Island has remained humble by returning to work as a doctor at Lewisham Hospital.

Alex George, who spent the summer in Mallorca looking for love, has returned to his day job after spending 10 years of his life studying to be a doctor.

In a video posted on Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, Dr Alex explained: "I worked at Lewisham Hospital for a few years before going on the island.

"The opportunity came up to go on Love Island. I was a bit apprehensive at the time about how that would go and whether that would be something I would be supported in doing by the staff here.

"The consultants were amazing, they said you know what its something different go there and enjoy. After the show I really missed being in work. I have trained nearly 10 years to be a doctor and I was really happy here at Lewisham Hospital so coming back felt like a natural step to me.

"I have come back part time in A&E on the bank rota and I am absolutely loving it."

Dr Alex previously worked in A&E and the sexual health department after doing his second year foundation training at the hospital.

He also encouraged people to come and work for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

In the video he added: "It is a brilliant place to work, I think you will have a great time and will be well supported and I think you will enjoy."

The famous doctor revealed on Love Island The Reunion last night (December 17) that he is now dating a girl after failing to find the perfect match in the villa.
