A machete was reportedly spotted as a dispute in a residential street got out of control.
The windows of a car and a front door of a home were smashed during an early morning argument in Curtiss Drive, Leavesden, earlier this week.
Police were called at 7.30am on Monday to reports of a disturbance between people believed to be known to each other.
Officers found that the windows of a silver Volkswagen Golf were broken as well as the glass panes of a nearby front door.
Police were also alerted to the fact a machete had been seen.
Three people were arrested.

• A 23-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of affray. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
• A 49-year-old woman from Watford was arrested on suspicion of Section 4a public order. She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
• A 31-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, racially aggravated Section 4 public order and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
