A hockey club in Kingston is appealing for new members to attend its parahockey sessions in Leatherhead and Surbiton.

Surbiton Hockey Club is one of several clubs across the country to offer “Flyerz Hockey”, a free parahockey programme for people regardless of their age and disability.

The charity Access Sports has been encouraging clubs across the country to run Flyerz Hockey sessions in collaboration with England Hockey.

Flyerz volunteers at the Surbiton Hockey Club received a disability inclusion training induction.

Joanna Brown, sponsorship and event coordinator at Surbiton Hockey Club, said: “I need to spread the word because I know that there are a lot of people out there in the same situation.”

Surbiton Hockey Club offers weekly sessions at 11.30am on Mondays at St John’s School on Epsom Road in Leatherhead and a monthly session at Surbiton Hockey Club at 4.30pm.
