Callous thieves have targeted a café set up in memory of a teenager killed in a Lee bakery for the second time in less than a week.

Jimmy Mizen died 10 years ago the day after his 16th birthday in an unprovoked attack where an oven dish was thrown at his chin.

His parents, Barry and Margaret, set up For Jimmy, a charity aiming to prevent youth violence.

They also opened The Good Hope Café in Ladywell in tribute to their son, with profits supporting the charity.

However, burglars struck the premises on Ladywell Road on Thursday (November 29) before it was ransacked again four days later.

Margaret told News Shopper: "They took most of our stock on Thursday and on Monday. They didn’t steal a lot but they broke the window."

The café sacrificed earnings after closing for a day to repair damage.

"When people think of burglaries, they think of what was taken, but it is the consequences after that hurt," Margaret added.

"The staff have been amazing, and they always rise to the challenge. They have been paid but it is not fair on them. This is not the first time, we have had quite a few."

The café was also targeted in December 2016, causing more than £5,000 worth of damage.

Millwall fans arranged to collect cash for the charity before their game against Hull City on Saturday (December 8).

Margaret described their support as "absolutely phenomenal" and said she felt very humbled by the gesture.

For Jimmy works with 18 schools in Lewisham and Margaret and Barry often talks to children across the country to discourage violence.

The mum said: "Children react fantastically. We share messages of forgiveness, peace and hope.

"The world is full of people who don’t forgive. A lad in a Lewisham school got in touch two weeks ago with a petition asking can we please help make Lee safer.

"Him and his friends were worried. I was incredibly humbled and touched that they trust me. But at the same time it is incredibly sad they have to do that."

CCTV footage captured the latest burglary but no faces can be seen.
