Pro-vegan activists will be outside The Glades shopping centre this weekend aiming to push people into trying their way of life.

Bromley’s fraction of the international group, Anonymous for the Voiceless, will show passers-by animal cruelty videos before promoting a vegan lifestyle.

The three-hour protest on Saturday (December 1) will aim to "bring the truth to light" and to help people make more informed choices.

Rebecca Lam, a volunteer for the group, told News Shopper: "The Bromley area doesn’t have vegan options, especially around The Glades.

"Not many in Bromley will have come across a demonstration like this. We want to bring knowledge to this area."

The volunteers will encourage interested shoppers to take part in a free 22-day vegan challenge via the website vegan22.com.

"By all means if they don’t stick to it, at least they have tried,” Rebecca said.

"It shows they have taken veganism seriously."

She added that most of their protests receive a positive response with only a small minority of people muttering disrespectful comments as they walk by.

"It is never physical harm. It is generally nothing.

"We are very peaceful. We try to bring compassion out of people. The ultimate goal is to open their minds and inform them of everything we know.

"They can then make the decision on a daily basis of what they eat and how it impacts the environment, their health and animals."
