A new workout space is coming to Southside, Wandsworth and it is designed specifically for kids.

Gymfinity Kids already operates four other sites in the UK, including ones in Farnborough and Reading, but none in London.

That was until now.

A planning application was submitted to Wandsworth Council in August this year to repurpose the Sports Direct in Garrett Lane into the new gym, and last week those plans were approved.

A document attached to the application described just what the new facility will be all about.

"The facility comprises a class-led gymnastics and ninja zone dedicated to children up to 14 years of age," it read.

"The proposed development will deliver significant benefits by providing a high quality commercial facility that allows gymnastics and associated sports to reach a wider audience.

"By enhancing access to recreational facilities for families, the proposal aims to promote healthier lifestyles, increase participation in sport, and consequently deliver a range of social and economic benefits."

The gym will be allowed to operate from 8am to 10pm seven days a week. There is currently no date set for when the gym will open.
