A cyclist has died following a crash in Chalfont St Peter this week.

The 57-year-old man was sadly killed after being involved in a crash with a grey Volkswagen Passat while travelling on the A413 Amersham Road, near the junction with Chalfont Park, at 1.45pm yesterday (Friday).

He was treated at the scene and taken to John Radcliffe Hospital by ambulance, where he later died. Police said his next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed while emergency services attended, and reopened at 4pm yesterday.

Investigating officer PC Victoria Jones, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, following which a man sadly died, or anyone who may have seen the Volkswagen Passat or the cyclist travelling in the area shortly before the collision.

“If you have any information which could assist our investigation please come forward and speak to officers.”
