A teenager was stabbed in Croydon town centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to reports of a fight on George street shortly after 4pm.
On the arrival of officers the group scattered, evading arrest.
The male, believed to be in his teens, took himself to a hospital with stab injuries.
A knife was also handed into police later that evening.
Police have not confirmed the extent of the teen's injuries.
A Met spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 16:11hrs on Tuesday, 13 November to reports of an altercation on George Street, Croydon.
"Officers attended and the group dispersed.
"A knife was later handed to police and a male, believed to be in his teens, later presented at hospital with stab injuries.
"No arrests have been made.
"Enquiries continue."
The news comes in the wake of a series of fatal stabbings in the capital over the last two weeks.
Between October 31 and November 5 five died in similar incidents, four of them under the age of 18.
