A Wallington home could be knocked down to make way for a new two-storey building with seven flats if fresh plans are approved.

Applicants RSH Portfolio 1 Ltd want to demolish the existing property, in Heathdene Road, and build a new two-storey building comprising seven flats.

There would also be five car parking spaces and terraces leading to the rear garden.

A planning application was submitted to Sutton Council on November 2 this month before it was validated four days later.

In the design and access statement, it reads: “The proposal would make a positive contribution to the area and be in keeping with the area – in terms of its scale, massing, siting and form.

“The application provides new homes, constructed to a modern standard in an accessible location in line with current planning policy.

“The proposal is for a small-scale infill scheme that has been designed taking into account the character of the surrounding area.

“We consider that the proposal accords with the relevant policies of the UDP [unitary development plan], and respectfully request that planning permission be granted.”

RSH Portfolio 1 Ltd say the new proposals will have “no adverse” effect on highway safety, nor mature trees, but provide an “attractive” landscape environment.

The consultation period is now open but it’s currently unknown when a decision will be made.
