A leisure centre is undergoing a joint £2m refurbishment.

Work to improve facilities at Potters Bar began last month and includes major upgrades to the gym, spa, and studios.

The gym upgrade will accommodate the latest connected gym equipment from Matrix and a functional training space featuring the Technogym SKILL range, including SKILLROW™, the SKILLMILL™ and the new SKILLRUN™, which offers high intensity interval training, speed resistance training and neuromuscular training.

It is all part of Hertsmere Leisure Trust’s £2m investment of Bushey Grove and the Furzefield Leisure Centre in Potters Bar.

Councillor Caroline Clapper, responsible for leisure, culture and health, said: “We at Hertsmere are committed to providing facilities that encourage our residents to pursue a healthy lifestyle and this fantastic refurbishment programme at Furzefield and Bushey Grove will enable us to achieve that goal.

“This brand new state-of-the-art redevelopment at both centres will dramatically improve the services and equipment on offer and provide the community with the perfect environment in which to get fit and relax. We are sure they will love the new look leisure centres once the refurbishment has been completed.”

Nearly all of the facilities will remain open for use during the refurbishment, however the health suites will have to close at both leisure centres

Work is due to complete at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre in May 2019 and Furzefield Leisure Centre in June 2019.
