The RSPCA says it is aware of an incident in Hayes where a man is reported to have stabbed a dog with a screwdriver.
On Wednesday (October 10) a man was apparently seen attacking the dog in Hayes Station Approach near Boots just after 6pm.
The Bromley branch of the RSPCA shared the following message: "Apparently a white bald man in his early 40s had a cage in the back of the van full of dogs and he stabbed one of them with a screwdriver, and a yelping noise was heard."
This was reported to both the RSPCA and police.
A spokesman for the RSPCA told News Shopper: "We’ve been made aware of an alleged incident. Unfortunately we are unable to discuss complaints about specific incidents and what action may or may not have been taken.
"We are so grateful to people who report suspected animal suffering to us and we would like to reassure people we will always look into and, if necessary, investigate any complaints made to us about animal welfare."
