The crew of DIY SOS are appealing for help so they can build an extension which will allow a little boy from Chislehurst to live at home.

Nick Knowles and his team say they “urgently” need a company to provide windows for the project.

Two-year-old Arlo was born with a rare lung disease and is the only child in the UK to suffer the genetic mutation.

He requires 24/7 oxygen supply and he has lived in a 5ft cubicle at Kings College Hospital’s intensive care ward since he was born.

The DIY SOS team are looking to bring him home by building an extension and redesigning the family’s ground floor to adapt to Arlo’s needs.

Parents Mike and Chantel Newcombe are currently having specialist training so they can give Arlo the care he needs from home.

The DIY SOS team are looking for volunteer tradespeople to offer help from October 16 to 25.

Those who are interested should email diysosbromley@bbc.co.uk giving their trade, availability and phone number.
