Members of the community turned out despite dreary weather last weekend to hear the soulful sounds of a school steel band.
On July 29, members of the Whitmore High School Steel Band gave it their all in the rain for a hardy audience in Pinner Memorial Park.
The band opened the much-awaited Concerts in the Park organised by the Pinner Association.
Armed with umbrellas and deckchairs children and adults alike enjoyed a “wonderful” musical performance by the school.
A spokesperson for the Pinner Association said: “We knew that come rain or sunshine the band would still play on and nothing would dampen their enthusiasm.”
The next concert to be held by the group will be a performance by the Fats Rollini Jazz and Blues Band on August 5.
