Hundreds of pounds has been raised to buy iPads for pupils at a Special School.

Bank staff at a Barclays branches in North London have been fundraising for the Northway School in The Fairway, Mill Hill, and have raised an “amazing” £807 by holding a raffle and cake sale.

The staff at the branches in Mill Hill, Stanmore, and Harrow, wanted to work together to raise money for worthy causes in the community and they selected Northway to help with communication aids.

Head teacher Lesley Burgess said the school has many projects on the go and they rely on the generosity of the community to support of them. She said she was “thrilled” with the donation.

Hub manager James O’Meara, branch manager Katherine Wong, and community banker Kamini Patel presented Northway with a giant cheque.

Friends of Northway is a charity which raises funds for Northway; a school for special needs children, aged 4-11, with a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties including cerebral palsy and autism.
