Changeable is the best way to describe the weather we got in May.

We certainly had some extremes during the month, from scorching temperatures and sunshine to pouring rain and thunderstorms.

The one thing the weather could be trusted on last month was always providing great photo opportunities, as shown by this selection of images from News Shopper Camera Club photographers.

Browse through the gallery above to see the 31 days of May’s changing weather in 31 photos (well, 32 photos if you really want to be pedantic).

It was a tough job choosing a winner from the weather theme we set for May in the camera club but in the end the honour has gone to Kimberley Brown for her image of a heart-shaped cloud (the May 2 photo in the gallery).

Kimberley, from Welling, wins £50 as the club’s monthly winner.

News Shopper:

The News Shopper Camera Club is a group on Facebook for people looking to get their photos published online and in print.

Now with more than 580 members, the club invites people to share their best photos from around the area, as well as talk to fellow photographers, join in projects and enter our competitions.

If you’re an enthusiastic amateur snapper, you can request to join the group. Once accepted, you’ll be able to add your pictures to the group, join in the conversation and contests and also possibly have some of your photos used here in the newspaper or on our website.

For June we’ve challenged members to share images that will make other people smile.
