A Croydon man who knowingly assisted in the disposal of £800 worth of stolen handbags and alcohol won't be seeing any jail time.
Martin Smith pleaded guilty to assisting/and or for the benefit of a Catherine Kelly in the removal of £837 worth of stolen goods from a John Lewis store in Kingston.
The 58-year-old of Princess Road in Croydon assisted in the disposal of the goods on March 25.
Smith, who was sentenced at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on August 3, was given a fine of £105.
Another man from Coulsdon was also ordered to pay £105 after he pleaded guilty to theft at the same John Lewis store.
On March 25, Gary Walker of Cordrey Gardens stole an unknown quantity from the store.
