A single-decker bus has collided with a lorry near Sutton High Street.

The impact from the 413 bus, heading towards Morden, forced the lorry completely off the road and into a car park on Throwley Road at 11.30am.

According to witnesses, the single-decker was at the time pulling away from the bus stop on the street near the junction with Lodge Place.

The bus was carrying passengers but no one was injured.

A witness, who asked not to be named, said: "The bus was pulling away from the bus stop and the lorry crossed its path.

"The collision was near the juction but they ended up in the car park. Looks pretty horrific."

"There were passengers on the bus, but it didn't look like anyone was hurt."

A spokesman from Sutton Police said: “Police attended a collision between a bus and lorry in Throwley Way at 11:30am today.

“The bus was a single decker and the other vehicle was a DAF truck.

“It was a damage only collision. No one was injured.”
