Two women and a dog managed to escape a fire in Brentford in which smoke was seen billowing from the roof.

More than 20 firefighters and officers from Richmond, Ealing and Chiswick attended the blaze in Ealing Road yesterday (Monday) at about 8.07pm.

The fire, which is believed to have started in the loft space, set off a smoke alarm and damaged part of the loft.

The fire was under control by 10.11pm and there were no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
