This is the shocking moment a Sydenham thug repeatedly stamped on a 40-year-old man’s head in a row over a football.

Dean Brown, of Wells Park Road, has been jailed for three years after he knocked his victim to the ground before stamping and punching him in the head.

The 23-year-old was playing football on a communal green when the ball struck the window of a nearby flat and the owner went out to complain, in May last year.

Brown, and another unknown man wielding a hammer, can be seen on camera having an argument with the flat owner, which escalates into a violent attack.

Jailed: Dean Brown

Brown hurls the victim to the ground and kicks him in the head as his accomplice strikes him repeatedly with the hammer.

Police arrested Brown and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

He was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court on Thursday (December 17) after he was found guilty of attempted GBH with intent following a trial in October.

Detective Constable Rebecca Adams, from Bromley CID, said: "This started off as a neighbour dispute that quickly escalated into violence.

“The victim was unable to assist police but thanks to the CCTV recovered we were able to prosecute Brown.

"The victim was extremely lucky not to have suffered more serious injuries.”
