The fire is coming from the roof which appears to have been in the process of renovation.

Luke Randall, 25, of Lignum Carpentry and Construction, was working in the house next door when the fire broke, which he believes to be at around 9.10am.

It is believed that the fire started after a generator exploded although this has not been confirmed by the emergency services.

According to Mr Randall it is believed that some damage to the roof next door was sustained as a result of the fire.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to the scene at 9.27am.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus have carried out a full search of the property.

They have confirmed that everyone has been accounted for.

Kent Police had closed the road but has since reopened.
