A "world-class" Jurassic Park-themed attraction for children and adults will open along the A406 in north-east London this weekend.

The 18-hole adventure golf course in Southend Road, Chingford, features near life-size animatronic dinosaurs and a 4m-high waterfall and blood-red lagoon.

Adventure Experience Ltd said it has spent in "excess of half-a-million pounds" to build Jurassic Falls Adventure Golf, which involved shipping the prehistoric robotic creatures from China to Chingford.

The company has a 25-year lease on the 2,000 sq metre site, which used to be Fairways Golf Range.

Built by Oliver Mahoney and his team at M.A.G Ltd, Mr Mahoney said the attraction offers something not seen on any of the nine other adventure golf projects he has worked on, including the UK's largest in Chadwell Heath.

It has a strong educational theme throughout the course with facts about fossils and the story of dinosaurs from creation to extinction.

Part of driving range structure has been converted into a reception area providing gifts, drinks and snacks as well as an outdoor undercover seating area.

Managing director of Adventure Experience Ltd, Scott Sinclair, described it as a "unique, world-class attraction built on a smaller scale".

Those who visit this weekend (July 25 & 26) will be to get a 2-4-1 offer if they quote 'Dr Rex 2-4-1 launch offer.'

The robotic dinosaurs include a 14m long T-Rex, Spinosaurus, raptors and herbivores Stegosaurus and Triceratops.

Ticket prices range from £3.25 for under 4s to £8.75 for 12s and over.
