Posh London department store Harvey Nichols has made criminals the stars of its new advertising campaign.
Not for the first time, the retailer has come up with an unusual way of promoting what’s on offer at its swanky Knightsbridge store.
A video ad features shoplifters caught on CCTV stealing clothes, jewellery and beauty items.
They are then seen being chased, detained and put into holding rooms.
To “protect the guilty”, their identities have been obscured by cartoon faces.
The tagline at the end of the commercial for the store’s rewards app is "Love Freebies? Get them legally".
Shadi Halliwell, group creative and marketing director of Harvey Nichols, said: "We wanted to create a campaign which plays on the universal truth that everybody loves a freebie.”
