One man has been arrested and another is in hospital following a shooting this weekend.

A man in his twenties suffered a wound to his upper body when he was shot at an address in Limes Avenue, Chigwell, on Saturday (July 11).

Essex Police were contacted by the ambulance service just before 10pm to reports of the shooting.

The victim is in hospital in a stable condition.

Police officers including the dog unit searched the area near where the incident happened and enquiries are ongoing.

A man, also in his twenties and from Chigwell, was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody for questioning.
