Five men were arrested after a “crazy” night of violent fighting in Epsom last night.

A large number of police cars and vans were parked around the Kiln Lane and East Street area of Epsom at 8.30pm.

On its Facebook page, Epsom and Ewell Beat described it as a “pretty crazy night” and said they had been called to reports of “threatening behaviour between a group of five people”.

Five men ended up being arrested for violent disorder and are all in custody.

The Facebook page said: “By the time the first unit arrived two men had run off and the other three men had details taken and went home.

“The response officers, on speaking to more witnesses and going on previous intelligence provided by neighbourhood police and community support officers, attended two local addresses and effected the arrest of the two men who left prior to police arrival.

“Going on the witnesses’ information, the other three men were later arrested at home by local Officers, also on suspicion of violent disorder.”
