But some would-be home-owners might be drawn to more illicit amenities, if an advert for a three-bedroom house in South Norwood is anything to go by.

The listing invites offers of more than £320,000 for the terraced property in Crowthing Street and promises your cash will buy you a lounge, a garden - and "local drug dealers close by". 

The advert was posted today on, which states the house is marketed by Harrison Sellars Estate Agents, of Sydenham Road, Croydon.

But if the peculiar sales strategy has piqued your interest, prepare for disappointment: Crowthing Street - and therefore perhaps the property in question - does not actually exist.

The stated postcode of the house advertised instead covers the similarly named Crowther Road in South Norwood. 

However, a reverse image search suggests the house pictured is real and was advertised in 2014 on numerous property websites.

If you've money to burn, though, fear not: this is not the only eye-opening advert under the Harrison Sellars name on Zoopla. 

The estate agent appears to be marketing a four-bedroom terraced house in Adelaide Grove, Shepherd's Bush, at a staggering £43.8m. The average house price on the road is £607,258.

Over in Downbury Mews, Wandsworth, a three-bedroom terraced house will apparently set you back a wallet-demolishing £6.6m, around ten times the average value on the street.

And in Hampson Way, Stockwell, where houses sell at an average of £291,222, Harrison Sellars is touting a two-bed flat for a mere £4m.

The Croydon Guardian has contacted Harrison Sellars to shed some light on the adverts but has not yet received a response.

Update (3.20pm): the adverts detailed above have now been removed
