A man has died in a house fire this morning.
Fire crews, police and paramedics were called to the scene in Pollard Close, Chigwell, at around 5am following reports of a house on fire and a man trapped inside.
Two fire engines and 10 firefighters from Romford and Hainault attended the incident.
Wearing breathing apparatus crews pulled a man from the building.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Half of the building was destroyed by the blaze.
An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.
