Bargain-loving brides can walk down the aisle in style without breaking the bank following a huge charity shop donation.

The Mind in Harrow charity shop, in College Road, Harrow, has received a donation of 30 wedding dresses from London bridal boutique Pearl Bridal.

Ranging from sizes six to 20, the 30 dresses come from the shop’s display range – with labels still attached – and are just over a year old.

Now staff at the shop hope they can help make couples' dream weddings come true with the donation.

Katie Moritz, who volunteers for the charity, said: “I’ve been married for ten years and I know what it can be like, burning the credit card for months to have that perfect day.

“We just want people to come into the shop and try them on – maybe they’ll find the perfect dress they were looking for and can help someone in need in the process.”

The original dresses were sold for around £700 to £800 but prices range between £100 and £200.

The shop will make more than £3,000 if all 30 dresses are sold on, with two already snapped up by eager brides.

Mrs Moritz added: “They are all beautiful dresses, you can find anything from David Bowie to Pride and Prejudice styles.

“They’re just over a year old, but they’ve never been worn.”

Shoes, jewellery, outfits for the Mother-of-the-Bride and outfits for wedding guests are also available in store.

Chief executive of Mind in Harrow Mark Gillham said: "Mind in Harrow is absolutely delighted that the Mind shop in central Harrow has received this donation of 30 wedding dresses.

"Since the shop opened in 2014, we have been encouraging support from the local community to donate items to sell and have been bowled over by this unusual and exceptionally generous donation.

"If everyone can spread the word that these wedding dresses are on sale and to donate other items, it would be a huge boost for our efforts to raise funds and help hundreds of people experiencing mental health problems currently without support.’
