A man who was riding a unicycle is in a serious condition in hospital after a crash on a busy road in Walthamstow.
Police were called at 6pm this evening (May 28) to a collision between a bus and a man on a unicycle in Hoe Street.
The male unicyclist, believed to be in his 20s, was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital where his condition is described as serious.
The bus, a route 212, stopped at the scene and there have been no arrests.
The wreckage of the unicycle was left underneath the bus as police carried out their investigations.
Roads closures are now in place in Hoe Street and Church Hill where the collision occurred.
Theresa Harper, of Mornington Road, heard the crash as she was shopping.
“I heard an enormous bang and then a man screaming,” she said.
“He didn't go under the bus but he was badly hurt, as the police were moving him he screamed more.
“It was horrible, he is only young. I have seen him using the unicycle up this street before. It does seem really dangerous.”
The wreckage of the unicycle could be seen underneath the bus in Hoe Street, Walthamstow
