The Loughton school's staff and students enjoyed the show as part of their Eurovision Day celebration.

The pair, who make up duet Electro Velvet, will perform Still In Love With You as the UK’s entry for the 60th annual Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna on May 23.

The last UK winners were Katrina and the Waves in 1997.

Hereward Primary School headteacher Matt Woolard said: “We're absolutely thrilled for Alex.

“Alex has been working with us for a number of months and he's brought a lot of passion and enthusiasm for music to the school.

“To actually see him transfer that to such a global stage is truly remarkable and we are absolutely thrilled that both he and Bianca had this achievement.

“We're right behind him all the way.”
