Robert Manley lives in Pulteney Road, South Woodford, and claims it is being used as a rat-run by drivers hoping to avoid congestion caused by traffic lights in Hermon Hill.
His car has been hit twice in the past few months by passing vehicles.
The 71-year-old thinks it is an accident waiting to happen and is calling on Redbridge council to install safety measures in the road.
