A man was left fighting for his life after being hit by a double-decker bus.

The 23-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a 123 bus in Forest Road, at the junction with Blackhorse Road, on Saturday (March 28).

Police were called to the incident at around 2pm and closed the road, diverting bus routes for several hours.

This morning the man remains in hospital and is described by police as being in a serious condition.

No arrests have been made.

Ken Davidson, Transport for London’s head of bus operations, said: “At around 2pm on Saturday (28 March) a route 123 bus, operated by Arriva, was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on Forest Road at the junction with Blackhorse Road. 

"The emergency services attended the scene. There will be a full investigation into this incident.”
