Youngsters performed a flash mob on Blackheath this week - all part of a series of activities exploring climate change.

Riverston School pupils worse specially-designed t-shirts as they walked from Lee to the heath.

Headmistress Sarah Salathiel said: "They performed an imaginative and energetic Flash Mob dance on Blackheath common to attract the attention of the local community and stand out as really caring about their environment.

"Pedestrians and bus travellers were seen waving as they passed in acknowledgement of this worthy cause."

It was part of a week of activities marking Earth Hour - a global event where millions switch off their lights for 60 minutes to show they care about the planet.

For Riverston it culminates in a school "shutdown" where they learn about managing without technology.

Mrs Salathiel said: "Riverston plan to make Earth Hour an important annual event."
